Tonight Grace and I went to see Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix ~ oh yes, on opening day. :)

I loved this movie!! It was much better than the book. I have to admit, this was my favorite of the movies so far and the book I hated reading. The book was long and angry and I really didn't like doing it. However.. this movie ROCKED!! But it was a bit on the scary side so children shouldn't go.... which means more popcorn for me! haha

For those who have not caught the Hogwarts bug, here is what the movie is about: "With their warning about Lord Voldemort's return scoffed at, Harry and Dumbledore are targeted by the Wizard authorities as an authoritarian bureaucrat slowly seizes power at Hogwarts."

Another movie that I really enjoy, and often use it as my sleep-movie! Not many people have heard of 'The 10th Kingdom' and even less have seen it. But trust me, it is definitely worth the rental!

Do you believe in magic?

Something magical is about to happen...

A young woman named Virginia (Kimberly Williams-Paisley) and her father, Tony (John Larroquette) are lured into a land where fairy tales are real! But the adventure is only beginning for the longer they stay in fairy tale land the more their lives become one.

Two centuries after Snow White and Cinderella had their adventures, the Nine Kingdoms ready themselves for the coronation of Prince Wendel, Snow White's grandson, to the throne of the Fourth Kingdom. But an evil once-queen has freed herself from prison, and turns the prince into a golden retriever. Wendel, by means of a magic mirror, escapes into a hitherto-unknown Tenth Kingdom (modern day New York City) and meets Virginia and her father Tony. Pursued by trolls, cops, and a wolf in man's form, the three blunder back into the Nine Kingdoms and begin their adventures to restore Wendel to his human form and throne, and find the magic mirror that will take Tony and Virginia back home, all the while unknowing that Virginia already has a connection to the Nine Kingdoms that may prove deadly before we reach Happily Ever After.

When you live each day with
all of your heart,
then you can
be happy ever after..
Even if its only for a short time.

Everything I Need To Know I learned from the Wizard of Oz

Imagination can take you anywhere - even over the rainbow.

Sometimes you have to leave home to find it.

Follow the Yellow Brick Road, but always be ready for a detour.

Faith, hope and love can work wonders, but ruby slippers can't hurt either.

When friends stick together, they can work miracles.

Having the courage to ask for what you want is half the battle.

"Hearts will never be made practical until they are made unbreakable."

All you need is right there inside of you.

"A heart is not judged by now much you love, but how much you are loved by others."

Keep home in your heart and you can always return to it.

The grass is always greener on the other side of the rainbow.

"There's no place like home!"

Dear Diary,

I watched 'The Wedding Date' a couple nights ago and here are a couple quotes that really popped out at me. I definately identify with the first one.... its one that I feel like I'm constantly struggling with.

The hardest thing is loving someone and then having the courage to let them love you back.

Nick: Close your eyes. Close your eyes. Close... your... eyes. You're safe. You can relax. I'm not going to kiss you. He's gonna be so sorry he lost you, so stop worrying. Forget the past. Forget the pain. And remember what an incredible woman you are. You do that and he'll realize what he lost.
Kat: Holy crap. You're worth every penny.

Sometimes I wish I already had all of the answers. That I knew the person I would not only end up becoming but also who I would end up with. I know that I am submissive and I want to be with a dominant man, but I also want him to have time for me... really have time for me. If I'm sick, I need more attention than I normally would so that I know that when we are together-together he will be able to take care of me. I know that is a big fear for me, that no one will be there to take care of me when I'm sick or old. I am the person in my family that takes care of everyone and everything, from hospital stays to treating the flu, I'm the girl they call. And I do it, happy that I am able to be there for them... but when I'm sick, no one has time for me. I know that is why I'm so hard on guys I am talking with or dating. maybe that is why I try so desperatley to push them away when I'm sick.

This time of year everyone is talking about resolutions and whatnot. So here are mine, in the form of proverbs of course :)

Don't let your past dictate who you are but let it be part of who you will become.

What you do speaks so loudly that I cannot hear what you say.

based loosely on 'Taming of the Shrew', by William Shakespeare

I've seen it a couple times, but this time the movie affected me. Part of me wants to roll my eyes at another teenage-girl ugly-duckling-turned-princess chick-flick. Kat's character was physically pretty but emotionally unattractive, very angry and fiercely independent-- until the end of the movie of course. :) And wouldn't you know it, that handsome delicious Heath Ledger was the one to get through to her with his bad-boy self. Anyway, I like the way that his character was (eventually) able to see through her facade and actually see her... not just her anger and pain, but who she truly was.

Here's the part that got to me the most, its Kat's poem at the end of the movie.

I hate the way you talk to me
And the way you cut your hair.
I hate the way you drive my car.
I hate it when you stare.

I hate your big dumb combat boots
And the way you read my mind.
I hate you so much it makes me sick.
It even makes me rhyme.

I hate it...

I hate the way you're always right.
I hate it when you lie.
I hate it when you make me laugh;
Even worse when you make me cry.

I hate it when you're not around
And the fact that you didn't call,
But mostly I hate the way
I don't hate you;

Not even close;

Not even a little bit;

Not even at all.

Here are a couple lyrics from the movie that touched me.

You laugh, you cry, no one knows why
Behold the thrill of it all...
You're on the ride
You might as well
Open your eyes

You will fly and you will crawl;
God knows even angels fall.
No such thing as you lost it all.
God knows even angels fall.

Artist: Jessica Riddle
Song: Even Angels Fall

Feeling guilty,
And I'm worried, and I'm waking from a tormented sleep
'Cause this old love, you know it has me bound,
But this new love cuts so deep.

If I choose now, I'm bound to lose out;
One of you is gonna have to fall...
I need you, baby.

Why do you come here, when you know I've got troubles enough?
Why do you call me, when you know I can't answer the phone?
And make me lie when I don't want to,
And make someone else some kind of an unknowing fool?

Make me stay when I should not?
If you're so strong then resolve the weakness in me.
Why do you come here, and pretend to be just passing by?
I need to see you - I need to hold you - tightly.

Artist: Joan Armatrading
Song: The Weakness on Me

I want you to want me
I need you to need me
I'd love you to love me
I'm beggin' you to beg me

I want you to want me
I need you to need me
I'd love you to love me

I'll shine up my old brown shoes
Put on a brand new shirt
Get home early from work
If you say that you love me

Artist: Letters to Cleo
Song: I Want You to Want Me

Dear Diary,

This weekend the good folks at TBS played 'The Wizard of Oz' about six times! And, I am happy to say, I watched it four and a half times :) I love that movie! The costumes, characters, plot twists, script and song structures, effects, EVERYTHING is just amazing! The music makes me sing along, the one liners make me laugh, my heart still races when the Evil Witch of the West sends the flying monkeys after the quirky quartet. Each time I watch this brilliant movie it feels like the first time! Oh and don't forget the movie trivia!

Here are a few of my favorite quotes/parts of this masterpiece:

I've waited twenty-three years to tell you what I think about you. Now being a Christian woman I just can't say it. ~Auntie Em

You have no powers here. Be gone! Before somebody drops a house on you! ~Glinda

'If you don't have a brain how can you talk?' asked Dorthy.
'Some people without brains do an awfully lot of talking,' replied the Scarecrow.

'You are a very bad man,' said Dorthy. 'I'm actually a very good man,' said the Wizard, 'just a very bad wizard.'

Hearts will never be practical until they can be made to be unbreakable. ~Wizard

A heart is not judged by now much you love, but how much you are loved by others. ~Wizard
